How To Make Weed Brownies

This recipe will show you how to make weed brownies that are deliciously potent.

Sometimes you just can’t beat the classics. Who hasn’t heard “special brownies” referenced in at least one TV show or movie? Cannabis brownies are a timeless desert and staple of cannabis culture. If you’re new to edibles, what better way to wade in? If you’re an experienced edibles consumer, these may bring you back to the early days of your cannabis career. No matter your level of experience, brownies are delicious. They’re undeniable. And if you make them with cannabis, they’ll also get you high. What else can the heart ask for?

Here’s how to make the perfect batch of cannabis brownies.

What You Need:

– 1/4th LB of unsalted cannabutter infused with 3.5 grams of cannabis (for strong brownies) OR 1/8th of unsalted cannabutter and 1/8th of normal unsalted butter (for lower dose brownies).

– 2 jumbo eggs

– 2 cups of sugar

– 1/2 teaspoon of salt

-1/4 teaspoon of baking soda

-1/4 teaspoon of baking powder

– 4 ounces of chocolate (the chocolate shouldn’t be too sweet, as the sugar will already sweeten the batter).

– 1 cup of cake flour

– 1/4 cup of vegetable shortening

– Vanilla extract

– Two big bowls

– Large pot

– Small pot or metal bowl that can fit inside the large pot.

– Cooking pan

– Parchment paper

Step 1: Start by preheating your oven to 350° Fahrenheit. As you wait for the oven to heat up, start mixing together your ingredients. Add all of your cocoa powder cake flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda in one bowl. In the other bowl, mix one teaspoon of vanilla extract with your eggs.

Step 2: It’s time to melt your chocolate. The best way to do this is with a double boiler. So, take out a large pot, and a smaller pot or metal bowl that can fit inside the large pot. Fill your large pot with a few inches of water and bring it to a boil. Then, put your 4 ounces of chocolate in the smaller pot/bowl and place it on top of the boiling water in your larger pot. Allow the chocolate to melt. Add the vegetable shortening into the hot, melted chocolate and stir.

Step 3: Pour this runny mix of chocolate and vegetable shortening into your bowl with the eggs. Scrape out all the chocolate mixture that you can into the bowl using a wooden spoon or spatula. Then, stir in the cannabutter. Gently mix everything together, but don’t whip.

Step 4: Pour this bowl of chocolate and cannabutter into the bowl of dry ingredients and thoroughly mix everything together. Then smooth out this mixture onto a pan lined with parchment paper. Press on the batter so it flattens against the pan and pushes out any air stuck in the batter. Fashion it into a nice big square of batter on the pan—not too flat, not too thick.

Step 5: By now, your oven should be preheated. So, put the pan into the oven and let it bake for 15 minutes. Then, rotate the pan 180 degrees and put it back in the oven to bake for another 10 minutes. Once it looks crisp on top (but not burnt), take it out and let it cool for another 15 minutes or so.

Step 6: You could technically eat your brownies now, but it’s recommended that you let them continue to cool for another hour or so, until they’ve solidified. Since they’re full of cannabutter, if you don’t let them cool enough, they might taste like oily cannabis. But if you let them sufficiently cool, all of the ingredients will further solidify and your brownies will taste more like normal brownies sans-cannabis.

Step 7: Just get your doses right! For approximately every 1 square inch of brownie you eat, you will be ingesting about 30mg of cannabis (if you chose to make a strong dose) or 15mg of cannabis (for a lower dose). 30mg of cannabis is potent, so it’s advised that you start out small and work your way up. You can always eat more, but once you eat too big a piece, it’s too late—you’re probably going to have a bad time. Edibles take longer to kick in that other consumption methods, so make sure you wait at least an hour after eating (waiting closer to two hours is even better) before deciding whether you want to eat more brownies.
